High temps at #CrossFit today, but we sweated it out. Lots of weightlifting in the mix today. Workouts are good even for old people.

Today, new personal record (PR) for back squat: 60 kg. Not bad for an old guy with a recent start.

For the workout of the day (WOD), I used 40 kg for the power clean series. Moving upward, little by little.

Got started on the workout today and discovered I had sore muscles I'd not felt earlier. Must have been from increasing my personal record on the front squat weightlifting on Wed. They loosened up as we went so that the burpee over box, kettle bell, handstand pushup (mine done on the box) and jump-rope went fairly smoothly. Even the 3-round warm-up of handstand climbs and 200 meter run each time wasn't bad. Not too bad for an old guy getting in shape.

Excuse me while I drink my natural protein shake.

Now for the chicken pot pie that the #TortaStore had set out when I went to pick up the Missus's cherry pie. I couldn't resist bringing it home too.

Missus and I walked on track around new park back behind our neighborhood. Quite nice, if not finished yet. New mayor, different political party, other priorities, all that. Got there as sun was disappearing from view, good time, cooler air. Will be a good option for days when we're not lifting weights and doing burpees.

Bruised my palm at CrossFit today, trying to imitate the trainer with the thumb under the fingers to secure the hand on the bar better. I must have done it wrong. I think it shifted all the weight to the palm under the ring finger and caused the bruise. I still did some weight lifting and a tad of rope climbing, but could tell it was tender. There's always next time.

Dropped a metal weight on my lower leg while pulling it off the weight-lifting bar which was sitting up o the rack. Bad scrape and bruise, but was blessed that it didn't fall on top of my knee, where it could have done some serious damage. Went ahead and finished out my time at the gym with little problem. Ice and essential oils are helping. Ought to be good to go on Monday.

Got started back last week on the exercises. My legs are sore. Resuming #exercise after a long pause may be more painful than starting it.

The body is a tad sore all over, but intensely in the legs, after a trial training at a CrossFit that opened around the corner from my office. Sitting and rising are a bit painful. No injury, just soreness. Am I showing my age? Or my long-term sedentariness? (And I only did the "adapted" exercises.)

The Missus accompanied me my second time around. They went lighter on us today. Still sore but diminishing. Let's see if we can work up to a decent level before we travel next month.
